Definitions of "romatic love" differ widely. Some say you can love and not be loved in return. I wonder why anyone would settle for that?

If you are not an obsessively crazy fan of some celebrity and you are content loving someone who doesn't love you then of course that is your right. But for me personally that would not make me content nor happy nor satisfied. Different strokes.

I know. You don't do things for people expecting to be repaid. On the other hand if you are  always doing things and never have folks do things for you that puzzles me. If you want to be a giver your entire life and never be given anything it's your choice. I think it is an odd choice because people take advantage of you knowing you're a sure thing and also knowing they never have to reciprocate because it's enough for them to be taken advantage of. That's all they hope for in life. Being a patsy. Same with romantic love . You can pine away your life loving someone who doesn't love you if that's all you need in life. A broken heart. So tragic. A "what might have been". Not my cuppa tea.
