This president seems to have a great deal of difficulty understanding that the three branches of government were created to keep each other in check so one doesn't overpower another.  He isn't clear on the duties and responsibilities of each branch.  A civics test should be given to every applicant for political office and if they don't pass it with at least an 85% score, they should be prohibited from running for office.

You are too generous my friend. It should be 100% . He is among the most ignorant vapid mediocre thinkers we' ve ever been exposed to in my lifetime. A sideshow barker. A lounge act. Not fit for the Big Room. Sigh. Thank you for your reply L! :)

That's why friends matter a lot my friend. You can trust them to be solid sounding boards as I so often trust you to be that for me! SIGH. Thank you for your reply L! :)

  • Hi Spunky Senior:  We have an extremely serious problem with testing on the subject of civics. It's quite possible that the vast majority of people couldn't score more than 50%, if that. There is no longer an emphasis on Civics, government, history, political science or any social studies subjects at any level of education in this nation. It seems that the only people among us with any understanding of a representative republic or constitutional law is the naturalized citizen. The highly honored school system in the county in which I taught, graduated students that didn't know where the capitol of the US is or how to find it on a map. But, maybe the idea is to keep them in the dark from an early age with the hope that no one will ever be the wiser.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you.  I'm afraid that the education system in this country is seriously lacking in many areas.  If we aren't careful, we will be come one of those "sh*thole countries" about which Trump speaks.

The total amount of what the SOB knows about GOVERNING or anything about Government, could fill one quarter of the head of a pin.

  • If that is the case, why does the Chief Justice preside over the trial? The Senate decides the verdict but it isn't exactly correct to say that the Supreme Court has no input into the proceedings.Does anybody remember that tacky looking robe that Chief Justice Rehnquist had specially made for the occasion during the Clinton trial?
