I refused promotions that would involve supervising others. It is a THANKLESS job what with all the anxieties and imperfections of homo saps and their internecine warfare! Just let me do a job on my own alone. So I would not make a good deity. As for remaining in this body Shuhak? Actually it has served me remarkably well. I sag but I'm not wrinkled! At 81 I look in the mirror and think "when am I going to start getting wrinkly?" I have few aches and pains and they are always transitory. I've had my share of close calls but I'm still here living a life I love. So all things considered I'm very lucky. Would it be trillions of people or quadrillions? I wonder when did recordkeeping begin? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
Given that longer lifespans generally tie to lower birth rates ... We might actually be looking at a lower population than we have now.
Would I become a deity? The only drawback I can see, is if we're talking the type of deity that someone could replace you by killing or imprisoning you. So sure, I would. I would probably do the same thing as any current deity that may exist - and just ignore mortals after the first few centuries of interaction.
If I had created such a sorry lot as we homo saps are I'd have washed my hands of them many centuries ago. We cannot get along. We lie and cheat and steal and hate and murder one another. If that isn't evidence of stupid dumb I don't know what is! Thank you for your reply Walt. I'm gonna ask.
There is a theory that everyone who has ever lived has been reincarnated into this AGE. This particular time.
There are certainly enough people on the planet to make that plausible. Especially in light of the idea that all of the people alive now have been reincarnated multiple times. So we have the same basic souls on earth trying to get back to the Garden that is Heaven.
Why are there more people now than there were thousands of years ago? Right now it's over 7 billion. Thank you for your reply Sharon and Happy Tuesday! :)
