My guess is that they are greedy and having a conscience about what they're doing to the planet will cost them money. Anything that costs them money they are against. Anything they can profit from and makes bigly bucks they believe in very bigly. Is it that simple or is more complicated? I would like to understand because on the face of it they seem to be simpletons who ignore science and proof and facts and evidence. Maybe they aren't simpletons at all. Maybe they aren't greedy at all. Maybe they have deep belief that humans are innocent of all any wrongdoing. Mebbe.
