War breaks out between prodons and condons dividing famllies. Would you slaughter your family if they were condons and you weren't?

Didn't families kill each other in the Civil War? Pro slaves and anti slaves supporters with guns shot to kill to protect a way of life they adored. Lynching. Having slaves. They got off on it. So they had to kill a few family members. So what?  I mean did they give a dam* about anything but preserving a way of life?
