Maybe she believes it would violate "double jeopardy" to impeach him and then try to file criminal charges for the same offenses?
Not that it would, for two reasons.
First - Congress is not part of the judicial system. So they are outside the "double jeopardy" limitation. Just as if a company punished an employee for theft, and then filed criminal charges, it would not violate "double jeopardy".
Second - Many charges could be filed in a state court, rather than federal. Federal prosecutors have used the reverse of this in the past, to get around the "double jeopardy" limit.
As the top "law" ossifer in the country could that whinya** snake billybarr put a kibosh on any such action? Y know dam* well he will do/say anything to save the corpulent a** of the sb prez. Do we need to impeach the snake first and then the devil? Thank you for your reply Walt! :)
I highly doubt any state prosecutor would be willing to cooperate with a federal prosecutor who didn't want them to go ahead with what would be the biggest trail of their career. Imagine the "gold" a state prosecutor would get for filing charges against a President. It could make their career, both legally and in politics.
