A lying actor who is lousy at it only dies metaphorically. Bad acting can kill a career. But bad spying? Now there's a horse of a different color.
Could you be an undercover cop and pull it off? Could you be an industrial spy and steal company secrets? Could you be a political spy and be a successful traitor?
Do you ever pretend to be someone else in your current life? Either on the internet or when you go out and about? It is said that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". Well that could be true of anywhere you are not known. You could pretend to be anyone you want and who would know that you're just very good at lying?
There must lots of money to be made lying. A noble profession to some. Not so hot to others. Different strokes. Are liars most often found in politics because they are drawn to it like moths to a flame? All actors of necessity must be liars. Is that for all politicians too?
