I don't KNOW for a fact but I expect the first time you murder someone is the hardest. After that it's easy peasy. True of lying too?
Once you lie and get away with or have it benefit you then it would be harder to stop and much easier to continue doing what works. At some point you've forgotten there is any other way to be and the die is cast. Is your die cast?
