I can't answer that question Walt thought LOGICALLY perhaps what they steal from us is needed to add to what they already have that WE DON'T have and so they will of necessity get ahead of us by doing exactly that. I am not educated in the ways of industrial espionage. I know it exists. But the thief isn't necessarily less intelligent. The thief may have other things going on about which we know nothing and looks to us to see what if anything could be useful to them. A possibility n'est-ce pas? Thank you for your reply! :)

I'm not sure who asked the question ... but China has been a superpower since WW2. We first helped them to counter the threat of Japan ... then to counter the threat of the USSR. I believe it was under the Clinton Administration that we began releasing more technology to them ... which allowed them to increase their industrial espionage.
So we are in fact WILLING co-conspirators? Sheesh. Then I guess we were gullible and duped into thinking they wouldn't use it against us? What a fine kettle of fish! I did not know that China had been a Superpower for so long. I do know that as far as technology is concerned they are way ahead of us in some areas. But we helped them get there willingly? Oy vey! I'm aware of the island or islands they built in the ocean somewhere which is of great concern. Thank you for that helpful information. So then do you think that makes them a bigger threat to us than Russia? Happy Saturday Walt! :)
