I expect most haters hate those they most fear. Being afraid of different viewpoints, ideas seems very queer to me. What causes that?
Ideas don't harm. Now of course putting some of them into action could harm. But ideas themselves? What ideas do you fear? What are you willing to do to make sure none of them ever are actionized?
