There are alternatives to Facebook, with far better privacy. However, it's like before old "ma Bell" was forcibly split up by the government. There were alternatives - but since everybody else was on "ma Bell", even if you had service with an alternative you had to use "ma Bell" to talk with anyone else.
Answermug is the only joint I frequent. I'm not a joiner but an avoider. However after Answerbag died without notice some pals came here and a couple of them invited me to give it a try. I did. I stayed. But anything that has a gazillion members will never be where you will voluntarily find me. Different strokes. Thank you for your reply Walt! So far I've had to sign in 4 times in the last 5 minutes. I have no idea what is going on.
I joined Classmates too decades ago but am a lousy joiner. I get updates from time to time which I just delete without reading. I have only a certain amount of time on the internet and the offline computer Walt. What with writing and responding to family/friend emails, researching things in which I'm interested, playing the Scrabble-like game titled BESPELLED (that is off line and very addictive) and Answermug it takes up all my time. I have no spare time to add anything more so I just delete stuff. I mean I do have a life separate from the computer.! Thank you for your reply! :)
