They were talking about North Korea's election on NPR the other day. I guess NK had an election over the weekend? Anyway, they were saying it's a "holiday" ... everybody gets the day off work.
While NK doesn't currently allow opposition candidates on the ballot ... there's the possibility it could, if the party was "disgraced" by an official. Sort of like China does.
But really it's just a day to get together with family and friends, praise the government, and have cookouts.
Sorry ... my brain went on a tangent, and I forgot the question. Anyways ... American ballots are already controlled by the elites of the Democrat/Republican Parties. (As everybody should have realized with the Bernie Sanders debacle in 2016.) It used to be we thought the members of the party made the choice, until 2016.
