Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» For those who believe. God wiped out the wicked by flooding the earth. People are very wicked today. How will HE wipe us out this time?
I don't see God doing that Sharon. James Baldwin wrote a book titled "The Fire Next Time" which words he got from a hymn sung in black churches. So will God burn us this time? He surely will not reward the wicked and there are many more people today than there were in Noah's time so there are many more who are very wicked. I don't relish burning to death. I don't know if drowning would be any less painful. I don't think I'm wicked but I am not perfect so I accept whatever I've earned. I saw the movie" NOAH" yesterday on Turner Movie Classics. Russell Crowe was Noah and Anthony Hopkins was Methusela and Jennifer Connolly was Noah's wife. Did you know that Methusela was Noah's Grandfather?. It got me to thinking about other things. than our current politics. I wonder if the so-called "Christians" who believe that the Bible is the Word Of God ever pay any attention to it? The so-called "Christians" who unquestioningly support evil seems very odd to me . Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)
I wouldn't object ... even a small nuke would get rid of most of Washington DC. Or we could use a neutron bomb ... kill all the people, but leave the buildings intact.
The really sad thing about Washington DC is ... it is Constitutionally governed directly by Congress. If they can't run their own city ... why do people keep trusting them to run the entire country? If Congress thinks it's too difficult to run a SINGLE city - (thus turning it over to a mayor and council) - how is it easier to run a COUNTRY?
We reap what we have sown. There is no way a TRUMP would ever have been allowed if we were all looking to be a democracy where everyone was equal. We have con artists and grifters and people turning their heads and looking away and letting it happen.
We don't. I had fallen into the trap of cultural convenience!
"Our" God is only male thanks to the Ancient Hebrews' patriarchal society.
Logically, if any such being exists at all, it needs be and cannot be male or female, but neuter - so not "Him" or "Her" but "It" - the only difficulty being that is very impersonal.
