The Senate could not overturn the trump veto. CONGRESS DOES NOT WANT TO SELL ARMS TO THE SAUDI BUTCHER!!The trump does. Do you?

Legislation to BLOCK the sale of arms to the Saudis was vetoed by the trump who always sides with the butchers. So now the butcher boy will have US weapons with which to murder people. Nice and cozy tidy. Isn't it?  As long as the trump draws a breath his butcher boy pals can always count on him to come through for them. Real dependable like. Butchers that kill together thrill together.

It's kind of dishonest to claim Congress doesn't want to sell the arms ... when they couldn't get the 2/3 votes necessary to override a veto.
That means more than 1/3 of Congress DOES want to sell weapons to the Saudis.

Should we sell weapons to the Saudis?

On the one hand, I don't think it would change anything if we didn't.
They would just buy weapons from someone else.

On the other hand, we know they use the weapons to oppress people (their own and others).
But if that is our motive for not selling weapons - which (as I say above) wouldn't really change anything - shouldn't we do something that would change things?  Like hitting them with an embargo or seizing all the funds of their royals.

How disgustingly practical.   I guess I should start eating meat again by that token.  I mean someone else is just going to kill that cow and eat him anyway.  You know?

If you don't read the entire reply, you get a warped sense of the answer.

It was a good answer, but I am pointing out the error of the answer.  No matter how you put it, to make a decision based on the fact that they will get weapons anyway?  That is no reason to do a thing.    ESPECIALLY for money.  We need money like we need a hole in the head.  And they throw money away hand over fist so we are not hurting them and we ARE hurting the wrong people. You did not quote the entire answer, did you?

Yes, they will get weapons elsewhere.
So, we should do something that would change things.

To use your meat analogy ... Yes, just people giving up meat is not going to change anything in how animals are treated (if that is your reason for giving it up).  That is why people also work on changing the laws to be more humane to cattle/etc.

So you believe they are thrilled and delighted and overjoyed that the guy who ordered the torture murder beheading dismemverment of a journalist who worked and lived in America will have access to more and greater means to butcher? Is that your position? Beneath the protest they are all supporters of the cruel in human mad dog despot dictators? I disbelieve you. So what? Thank you for your reply Walt. Different storkes. You are a DA through and through. No worries. I expect that from you.

I don't think they support him ... I think they just don't give a damn, either way.
After all, they don't care about the citizens suffering in the ONE city Congress has a Constitutional duty to administer.
So why would anybody think they care about anyone else?

Let us hope and pray that this little stunt costs him more votes.

    Let us pray.

    This is unconscionable.

It should not take a 2/3 majority in the Senate for an issue of this nature.

I agree. But I believe chump stands to make tons of money from the Saudis for his own personal enrichment so of course he will not tolerate being crossed. SIGH. Thank you for your reply L and Happy Wednesday!  :)

Everything Trump does is overshadowed by the prospect that he will make money.

Of course. The selfish greedy chump is beloved by his peeps because of that. They apparently admire greed and selfish self-interest above and beyond all else. Toss in lying 24/7 and consorting with bthe enemy and they will never abandon him. Go figger! Thank you for your reply L! :)

Anyone with a lot of money would love him because they all benefit from his policies.  I can't understand why a hard-working person or someone who can't find a job follows him.
