President Donald Trump on Saturday advocated for ASAP Rocky's release from Swedish custody in a call with Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, saying he "personally" vouched for the New York rapper.
"Just had a very good call with @SwedishPM Stefan Löfven who assured me that American citizen A$AP Rocky will be treated fairly. Likewise, I assured him that A$AP was not a flight risk and offered to personally vouch for his bail, or an alternative," Trump tweeted.

"Our teams will be talking further, and we agreed to speak again in the next 48 hours!" Trump continued.
ASAP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was arrested after voluntarily going to the police in Stockholm for questioning after an altercation three weeks ago during a music festival.
The State Department is aware of the arrest. A spokesperson told POLITICO the department hopes "to see ASAP Rocky and his colleagues back on tour and reunited with friends and family soon.”
