Are bigotry/jealousy the same? Or different? How?

There may be people who are both but no, they are not synonyms.

A bigot is one who holds extremely strong and usually illogical or distorted views without ever analysing them, and assumes he or she is always right and cannot be argued with. Bigots are often bullies, justifying their ill-gotten power over their victims as necessary to whatever it is they believe.

Jealousy is simply deep, often corrosive, envy.

Perhaps for some people though, their bigotry comes from a gnawing jealousy of some aspects of their opponents' character, may be because jealousy is  sometimes accompanied by a destructive wish to deny others having something personally unattainable.

Would you consider people "acting up" toward you because you did very well in school as being symptomatic of bigotry or jealousy Durdle? I ask the question because it was brought up by someone who believes it was bigotry he experienced by being smarter than others. I did well in school and skipped a few grades and the kids thought I was weird and I guess I was and am. I never thought they were jealous or bigots. I just thought they didn't like me because I wasn't like them. Story of my life! But different folks perceive things in different ways. I was shocked to learn that someone would think that it is bigotry if you are simply better at something than they are and they don't like you for it.. So I asked. Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful reply. You confirmed what I think about bigotry! :)

That was simple jealousy, not bigotry.

The " someone who believes it was bigotry he experienced by being smarter than others " seems to have misunderstood the word.X
