"Forgive them Father for they know not what they do". Even Jesus didn't ask God to BLESS his persecuters. Why would anyone do so?

Ask GOD to BLESS his/her persecutors? For what reason? To carry on the attacks insults demeaning denigrating lies? I don't get it.

    Asking for Father to forgive them was asking for a big blessing for them.
