What, if any, are the obligations that come with "loving" someone? Do you feel responsible at all for what he/she does or says?

IF you were besotted and thought your beloved were perfect I guess there's be no problem. But say he smokes or drinks to excess or eats a buncha junk and is overweight in the extreme what is your duty/obligation? Anything? Or you just let him/her be as-is saying and doing nothing to help?

T'is a puzzlement. It seems to me if you really love someone ENOUGH you are willing to stand up and speak up and point out things he/she is doing that are very harmful. Do you? Would you? Or does love me you take a person as-is and let them sink or swim on their own alone even though you could have saved him/her?

T'is a puzzlement. Is true love silent or vocal? Is true love accepting of all or contentious when it sees that the beloved is his/her own worst enemy? I'm not sure. Are  you?
