Just when you think it's smooth sailing ahead something else comes up to upset the applecart.

If it's not one thing it's another.

Do you ever get a respite? A time off? Or is it always coming at you from a different direction...the one thing or another that stalks you?

I think this is the center of Buddhism.

Maya is the physical.  In the physical there is never serenity.  We are either happy and worried or sad and depressed and still worried.  When we are happy, we KNOW it will not last.  NO ONE IS HAPPY EVERY SECOND. NO ONE.  I mean they may be serene and content but joyfully happy? That is for saints and sages.

SO? What did these people know that we sufferers do NOT know?  SURRENDER.

As long as we are addicted to any attachment this world offers and are unable to look at it as a passing cloud, although beautiful and wonderous, is still an impermanence?  We will suffer.  We need to be aware, accept and feel gratitude for all the lessons we learn down here.  Or up here. Or whatever HERE we exist in at present.

ACCEPT and BE GRATEFUL.  That is the lesson in everything.  OR SUFFER.  That is the answer to everything.

    noun

a religion, originated in India by Buddha (Gautama) and later spreading to China, Burma, Japan, Tibet, and parts of southeast Asia, holding that life is full of suffering caused by desire and that the way to end this suffering is through enlightenment that enables one to halt the endless sequence of births and deaths to which one is otherwise subject.
