Dorian update. It is expected to bring winds of 200 mph as it passes over the Bahamas and 20 inches of rain is expected. DIRE?

It is a slow-moving storm which makes it deadlier because it hangs around longer so it will do more damage. Don't know what Dorian will become when it leaves the Bahamas and hits Florida. I do not want any deaths and the only damage I wouldn't mind would be to Mar A Lago and Doral.  Not to any people. Why? Because I want to see how fast FEMA finds the billions to rebuild both for the steadfast jacka** so he won't have to do without while everyone will have to wait and find the funds have been completely drained. That should be fun.

Sorry to disappoint you, but its now highly unlikely that either of those places will see damage, as Dorian is going to stay well to the north.

The 200 mph is gusts, not sustained winds.  Sustained winds should max out between 155 and 160 mph (which puts it at a strong cat 4 to a weak cat 5).

The good news (if you can call it that) is that as Dorian stalls over the Bahamas, the interaction with land will help to keep it from getting much stronger (as well as several eyewall changes).

FEMA does not rebuild anything. They give money out for small damages but only offers small interest gov insured loans for major damage. So if a property is destroyed....they can get a loan. Not free money to rebuild.

    Hoping it looses strength quickly.
