Some criminals goad cops purposefully so they will get killed. It is called "death by cop". Well the GOP chose "death by Trump". Why?
The loss of the GOP is no big thing. The party was a victim of a retaliation and rebellion that failed. The seeds of the GOP's destruction came not from Trump or that which gave rise to Trump. It came from within. The party literally imploded from the Republicans elected to office and their pitiful effort to be the servants and operatives of a failed Democrat administration. The rank and file at the grassroots level had no death wish. They had a wish for competent alternatives and for someone to stand up and present themselves as the opposition to many of the dismal failures that will now continue long after the demise of the GOP. People asked for solutions and for leadership. They got neither. It does not speak well for the tired and miserable failures of the last eight years that people would cling to the first thing that came along. There is desperation across the land and it is one more indication of how far we continue to slide. This would have been a cakewalk for a serious and viable GOP candidate. The proof of that is the fact that Clinton should be ahead by 20 points as of now. She isn't. She would be if she were riding a wave of Democrat success.
The GOP is dying. It can't play it safe. That's just dying slowly. Its only hope of survival is to create radical change in the U.S.. If the toxic cocktail of globalism and leftism continues much longer, a tipping point will be reached where the majority of the population will be dependent on the government. At that point, conservative ideas are unelectable.
Conservative ideas can never really die. Our ideas are what works. The GOP may die, or suffer the living death of being run by RINOs and corporatists, but it will be reborn like a phoenix from the ashes of society after the coming social and economic collapse.
You leftists can't win in the long term. The only question is how much we all have to suffer before society returns to what works.
Well said!!!
Well said, Polk!
