I can't help wondering how many of these people got to their location by using vehicles that pollute.

    Especially the school kids.
I know VERY few school kids choose to walk/bike, rather than take the bus or drive.
And getting a vehicle when they turn 16, and can drive, is seen as important to most of them.

How many of the adults would be willing to give up their personal vehicles?
If they didn't have the costs of a personal vehicle, how many could afford to live closer to where they work?

I find it hypocritical of them to demand the government force changes on everyone, before they are willing to voluntarily change their own lifestyle.

Do you see what you are doing Walt? It is a pattern. You are picking out a negative to focus on and are not discussing the bigger point at all. I wish I knew WHY you seem driven to do that. My interest would be more in having you answer the question I asked. For future mebbe? Thanks.

The only question I see is "Global Citizens?"
To which I responded ... first by giving my reasons, then my answer - that I believe they are hypocrites.

Well-meaning and certainly thinking about the world, but misguided; and I wonder how many would pass a simple test with questions like:

What are the differences between fuel, power and energy?

What are their respective units of measurement?

What is crude oil used for?

Wind-farms and similar require steel and concrete, among other substances. Describe simply, their raw materials and basic processing.

Can steel and concrete be "recycled", and if so how or in what form?

Have you examined what new practical and environmental problems may arise from relying entirely on electricity generated from solar, wind and tidal power sources?

    etc......

I take no notice of truanting school-children and strikers on demonstrations, and little notice of most politicians who'd probably also fail the above; but I do pay attention to scientists and engineers who understand the climate problem and can at least try to offer sensible solutions.

Still, I wonder how that Greta Tornberg lass made her way to New York, having unctuously refused to fly as far as Paris? (She made that trip by train, but as far as I know, there are no rail services and ferry connecting Siberia to Alaska!)
