When do you, if you do, THROW IN THE TOWEL? When it gets too dirty and you're sick and tired of washing it or when it's full of holes? Why?

When a towel reaches either of those conditions ... I "recycle" it as rags.
When I can no longer use the rags, because they are falling apart, I throw them away.

Good for you Walt. You try to get as much mileage as you can out of something. I do that too. NOW. Thanks to Jim. We've been together 22 years and I'm sure we've saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars by simply returning what we didn't like or didn't work or whatever. Of course he usually buys the more expensive stuff like tools which aren't cheap. I shudder to think of all the money I literally threw away by being so casual about not returning things. Thank you for your reply! :)

My friend's parents have towels and washcloths that nobody wants to use, because they are sooooo falling apart.
But they say ... "we can still use them".

What they really mean is they will use them as "guest" towels, since no family member will use them.
But all their guests know where the "better" towels are kept, and won't use the "ratty" towels either.  lol

Now you're teasing me Walt. But think about this. Were those towels and washcloths gifts from say you or other loved ones? Didja ask? Maybe they have sentiment attached to them. Years ago when our Desert Hills Outlet in Cabazon opened up there was a massive store that sold very nifty namebrand linens at a huge discount. It was Westpoint Pepperell. They were allegedly selling seconds but honestly I could not find any flaws in any of the merchandise I bought. So I bought towels for my sister&brother-in-law and for my son and his then-wife and for me. All identical. When I'd visit them I'd see the towels I bought in their linen closets and I got so much satisfaction just from from that. So poke around and see who gave them those towels. Thank you for your reply. Joking or not I appreciate it! :)

    Nope ... No joke.
I don't know if they were gifts - but the parents are hoarders, so even if they weren't gifts it's likely they claim some "sentimental" attachment.

Oh. Then I guess we can never really know what the driver is. Well it seems to me to be a relatively innocuous eccentricity Walt. All things considered. Agree? Thank you for you reply! :)
