My job is my husband. I am married to it and it pecks me every moment of my life. It is not easy being a working class hero. It is nothing I would ever choose for a lifestyle if money were not tied to it, I can think of better ways to manage my day and life, but money changes everything.
The clients I work on are like parents of kids that teachers have to deal with. They hold the cards. Without clients, we have no work. So, they rule the roost. Sometimes way too much. So, I have to put up with a lot just to make the massage successful. A LOT. But it has made me humble and open-minded enough to learn from my clients and not assume I know it all.
That is the gift of marriage too. The toughest confrontations often make for the most solid bond after the air clears. So, I have to do the tightrope act of telling the person what they need to hear, yet making sure they are receptive and in agreement. If not? I am getting nowhere. Same with a marriage.
Thank God I don't have to sleep with my job. But I do get a few weirdos I won't lie to ya.

This is a very fine response Sharon but I want to talk to you about something else. Your reply to m2c was incredibly kind fair and very classy. It touched me greatly enough to look inside myself to see if I have as much grace and class as you exhibited. I'm gonna try and you are my inspiration. What do I mean? You'll see. Happy Wednesday! :)
Who gets the middle of the bed at night while I sleep on the floor? The cat (all 5 pounds of him) Who do I have to hand feed? The cat. For whom must I stop everything I'm doing whenever they speak? The cats. Who must be fed first? The cats. Who is always demanding I attend their every demand? The cats (very vocal). Who insists on tasting all my food before I get a chance to eat it? The cat (but we are working on a compromise).
