Is your "FAIR" always cut on the bias*? Isn't that an oxymoron then? How can bias ever be fair?

You who sew or are familiar with clothing design know what cutting fabric on the bias means. To do it crosswise not striaght. The purpose? It stretches. Like "FAIR" depending upon who is doing the cutting and what the pattern being followed is. Decades ago slinky gowns were cut "on the bias" and very alluring and well sexy.
However cutting your beliefs on the bias is not so sexy. It gives us a trump for example.
