You know what I would do?  I would do what I did when I thought that as a young adult.  I got high.  I drank and got higher than a kite just like the individual that wrote that to you.  BUT?  I was in my 20's and I did NOT die. I studied and searched and read and found MANY MANY MANY people whom I admire who shared the same thoughts as I did and over came those thoughts.  They INSPIRED me. I did not SHUT THEM OUT.

I listened and learned.  Those who refuse and want to celebrate their disappointment and just give up?  Well, there is only so much a person can do with someone who just wants to be depressed and drink themselves to death.

Sorry, it's tough love.  It's their choice.

The reason I asked the question Sharon is that an Answermugger started off a reply with "Since life is meaningless". Now perhaps he/she was joking but I took it seriously. I cannot imagine living one moment believing my life is meaningless. That would cancel out giving birth to my son who is a very fine person and makes the world a better place. It would mean that my meeting Jim and having him be my partner for 22  happy years and counting would be of no consequence. It would mean that all the times I felt joy were sham and the sorrows I experienced were self-indulgent fantasies. So under no circumstances will I ever feel think believe that life is meaningless. Thank you for your reply! :)
