Can anyone out there either verify or dispute the following for me please?

Did tumbleweed ACTUALLY SAY

"when I TOOK OVER the country" or "when I TOOK OVER the military"?

I know he has said "MY GENERALS". Is it his country and his military?

A coup by a fat old man whose credentials are anything but auspicious took over the country and the military?

It's kinda a long row to hoe for a fat old man who detests exercise because it "takes too much energy". Even so did he hoe it?

Thank you for your reply and the link tom. Well once you take over the military isn't it a hop skip jump to country? What is martial law? I'll Google it but if the military is against you its a coup if they defy you. If you take them over who is gonna deny you anything? Each question begets more questions. When does it end? AARRGGHH! Happy Wednesday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at October 24, 2019 2:01 AM MDT

Do you see any light at the end of the tunnel? The William Taylor testimony seems to be rock solid proof. Of course the trump machine is already trying to smear him. Now he was retired and mike pompous is the one who brought him on board. Taylor served decades under both dem and gop regimes with distinction and now look what is being done? Neverending except maybe now there is a possibility that enough Republicans in the Senate will do the right thing? Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday. Got any plans for your upcoming "day"? My "day" is the day after yours and I'm going to the dentist for teeth cleaning! Boy getting old is real exciting. Yes I'm giggling. Surely you'll be doing something way more fun!

Lucky you! Next year is my year for that. But what I do is practice on the online tests and it does help me a great deal. I get the driver's handbook too but I honestly don't read every word. I much prefer the internet tests. There are a bundle of them. Good luck m'dear! You'll probably not miss one question! OOYAH! Thank you for your reply tom! :)

Renewed for 6 years until 2025.

In Texas there is no written test when one renews his Texas drivers license---there is an eye test, however.

If you do not wear glasses, you must have 20/40 acuity of vision minimum; if you do not, you must be corrected with glasses to at least 20/50.

For those who may be reading this and do not understand what the ration stands for:  "Visual impairment" is visual acuity of 20/50 or worse in the better-seeing eye. Visual acuity refers to the sharpness of vision at 20 feet from an object. A person with 20/50 vision can clearly see something 20 feet away that a person with normal vision can see clearly from a distance of 50 feet.

(People with 20/20 vision have normal vision. ... 20/20 vision describes visual acuity, or the sharpness of vision at 20 feet from an object.)

Bad distance vision was considered "improved" if corrections boosted visual acuity to 20/40 or better. Glasses, contact lenses, or corrective eye surgery can make such corrections.

The study focused on distance vision problems (nearsightedness, or myopia), not flaws in close-up vision (farsightedness).

CONGRATS! California requires testing up the yingyang after you reach a certain age.
For years I renewed it automatically via mail. I'd pay the fee and bingo bongo my renewed license would be sent to me. I don't remember when that stopped. Maybe when I was 65? Used to be a piece of cake. Automatic renewal. Our licenses are renewed for FIVE years not six. The last time I renewed mine I had to take the test on a computer. It was very confusing and a lady came over to help me. I was kinda embarrassed. I passed the test but was very nervous. I'm already anticipating screwing something up and I have a year to go before that happens. I have always looked forward to tests and never froze up. Why? Because it lets me know what I don't know and that's always valuable. But a driver's license test when you're in your 80's? Not so much fun. SIGH. Thank you for your reply tom! Happy safe driving to ya! Oh. My Jim was born in Savoy, Texas near the Oklahoma border. I don't know if I ever mentioned that to you! :)

Savoy, TX--just looked at a map.  Pretty close to where I live.  I don't think you have mentioned that before.

We can renew our licenses on line every other year.  When we reach 80, I think there is something different about the eye test we take.

No point in finding out now about that since the rules may change by then.

Small world m'dear! Not only do you and I have things in common you and my Jim do too! What are the odds? I think I told I'm always looking for connections. I think that's my way of thinking there are no coincidences. There is meaning in everything we experience in life. We don't always figure out what it is but it ain't by chance happenstance coinkydink randon occurrences. Thank you for your nifty reply. Well I'm almost 82. You know what's funny though? About 10 years ago I thought that maybe I should just pack it in drivingwise because driving at that age could be problematic. That bar keeps moving. Human nature I guess. The closer you get to a self-imposed limit the more often you move it! Thank you for your reply tom. Texas boys! My cuppa tea! :) Oops. A question cometh forth.

None of us has any prior experience with what it is like to be old---so the limitations are only prospective until our bodies and mind actually get there.  (Wherever there is---which is not precisely defined anyway.)

You know what is so weird? I've never felt better healthier stronger in my life than I do now. I know I am very lucky and very rare. Jim has a bad back so I do all the heavy lifting. That includes when we get water at the "water store". A 3-gallon bottle weighs 24 lbs! I lift that puppy as if it were a feather.  we get 18 gallons each time we go because I cook with it and we drink it. I've definitely increased my upper body strength significantly as I've aged. Now it ain't all sunshine and roses. My balance isn't perfect so I have to move PURPOSEFULLY. Every now and then I get an arthritic attack. Always temporary. I read that everyone will get arthirtiis who lives long enough. Seriously being old is a revelation. I had no idea it would be this good. My mom had health problems up the kazoo and she lived until she was 95 so I'm looking at a triple-digit life expectancy (potentially). Geez I remember when I was 16 I thought 40 WAS SO OLD. What a crock of baloney (mixed metaphor I know). So far so good. Of course things can change but for right now? LIFE ROCKS! Thank you for your reply tom! :)

A few years ago, I started saying that if I had known that old age was this great, I wouldn't have waited so long to get here.

All "old age" is individuated---I hit an occasional "bump" in the road, but it's still pretty smooth driving.

So you KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! How cool is THAT? Well m'dear I am very happy that you face the same "predicament" I do. If there were some way to go back to our younger selves and let us know it's all gonna be a lot better than we think that would be beyond neat. Time travel has its dangers though. Thank you for your reply tom. Oh I wanted to ask you. Are you going to get that "new" kind of Driver's license that will be required for those who want to enter Federal Buildings? I think it's optional but if you get a regular license you are not allowed access to certain things or places. I think it takes effect in October 2020. Anyway thanks! :)

Ok, I just googled that new license you mentioned involving the Federal Real ID Act.

The act was passed in 2005, and Texas driver's licenses issued since 10/2016 have a gold star on them, which certifies them as being compliant with the Federal Real ID Act.

Current Texas licenses issued prior to 10/2016 will have to be "upgraded" (certified) if you wish to enter a Federal building.  (If not, you can just wait until your current uncertified license expires.
