I expect if there is no natural dark side or underbelly one can always be made up, manufactured, created to serve the purpose.
Now some people must work in the dark and play there. Light shines and they melt away or die. Doing everything in the dark is their only choice or they will not survive. I guess if they exist only in the dark then they are blind. What happens when they inadvertently have a light turned on I can only guess. But it must not be pleasant.
