I do not own an apron.  I rarely cook, so there is no need for one. :)  Happy Tuesday. :)

I may have owned an apron once, but I have no idea what happened to it!

I know I had a couple of them ages ago but my son never saw me wear one. He will be 54 on his next birthday so I was probably was unmarried and living at home. I guess it was a fad though a very long one. Thank you for your reply L! :)

Mine did too and my grandmother was always wearing one. It seems whenever we wre there she was always in the kitchen cooking or baking. She and my mom were superb cooks/bakers. Yours too? Thank you for your reply L! :)

Funny, that's what I remember about my grandma, too.  She was always in the kitchen.  Had a dishcloth hung over her shoulder until she sat down to eat with us. :)

Mine too honey! She used to make the most delicious Armenian pastries and even BAKLAVA! I'd watch her roll the dough out and then she'd pull it from beneath to stretch it very fine. You can buy it in freezers today but she made it from scratch. I kinda miss those days L. I wonder how many grandma's today will be remembered fondly wearing aprons all the time? Virtually none I fear.  I gotta ask! Thank you for your nifty reply! :)

My grandma made everything from scratch, too.  She used to make the most deliciously light blintzes (pierogies).  We could never get the dough as thin as she did without making a hole. :)

Oh my gosh L. I LOVE PIEROGIES! Haven't had any for a bazillion years...slight exaggeration. They are beyond deelishush! Betcha our grandmas would have gotten along just swell. Your grandma could make her pierogies and my grandma could make the baklava and then they each give some to the other. Can you imagine how fat we'd be if we ate that daily? Pierogies and Baklava? Even so it warms my heart to think of that. Very nice memories. My grandma's name was Mary. My mom's mom. What was your grandma's name? My dad's mom was Rose but I don't really remember her doing a lot of baking/cooking. Thank you for the stroll down memory lane L! :) This post was edited by RosieG at October 30, 2019 7:25 AM MDT

Yes, they would have gotten along well.  My mom's mom passed away at 53 when I was 5 years old, so my recollection of her is hazy.  Her name was Anna.  My dad's mom lived to be 89 and her name was Becky.

No, I do not have an apron for cooking.  I did have one years ago for work. I paint daily. But I quit using it....too hot in the summertime.  I just have work clothes...they have paint on them.

I haven't worn an apron in probably 60 years. Why I don't know. Not necessary. I'm not a slob! Thank you for your reply m2c. But your apron wearing to keep paint off would be certainly understandable! :)

I had the cutest apron from Pier 1 Imports.  It was an oilcloth apron and it had an amazing design of an Italian Apertiff on the front.  It was so neat, I would hang it up in my kitchen as a decoration.  I don't think I ever wore it.

If you saw the stains on my clothes after any day at all, you would see that if anyone needs a permanent apron it is me.

I guess I thought it was a pain in the butt to think about decades ago. I haven't worn one in probably 60 years. I don't think my son ever saw me wearing one and he is going to be 54 on his next birthday! Thank you for your reply Sharon! :)
