FADS are always temporary short-term but they vary in length. Like beanie babies and hula hoops. What fads did you enjoy most? WHY?

When I was in high school the gals wore crinolines beneath their skirts that made them pouf out. We also wore POODLE skirts. How and why that fad started I do not know. Any of you oldtimers ever own and wear a poodle skirt?
