    Only because my dad's mother was already dead.
    On the other hand, I was closer to my dad's father ... because my mom's father was already dead.

    I only met my maternal grandmother a few times. I never met any of the others.

     Well my mom's folks lived two blocks away from us while my dad's folks lived about 30 miles away. Proximixity matters. There is no proximity to a dead relative. That I know of. Thank you for your reply! :)
