Around 1797 poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER. A VERY LONG POEM. I think we're stuck in it. HOW?

"Day after day, day after day
We stuck nor breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean"

The world of dementia don. Is he the ALBATROSS or is he the one who destroyed it?

"Water water everywhere and all the boards did shrink
Watter water everywhere nor any drop to drink"

And so we stay in one place becalmed. For how long? We are fast dying of thirst and may not last the night.

Great analogy.  I can see him as the albatross - thought of as a good omen (pre-election (to many)), but once killed (elected) brought only misery and death.  However, I cannot see him as the mariner.  The mariner survives but learns a lesson.  Trump can’t learn any lessons as he thinks he already knows everything.

I wanna call your attention to something Shuhak. Notice how many others responded to the question? Exactly. Thank you for the compliment. I asked the question because it is so obvious to me that I could not pass it up. I figgered if anyone were going to respond it would be you. Guess what? I was right. Though not on the same level there is a lot about how we are wired that is similar. Which means I don't have to explain what I mean which is always comforting. Sometimes I feel like this weird odd duck whose language no one understands. But then you show up and that lets me know that there is at least one other person out there to whom what I'm saying makes sense. Thanks and Happy Saturday! :) I'm thinking we are the only two who ever read the poem in its entirety. I could be wrong of course!
