They refuse to accept it because it'll require them to admit that they were wrong. People will do, say or admit to virtually anything if it will help them to save face. The longer people believe a lie the more that lie becomes the truth to them (they come to believe it as truth).
I don't remember which Answermug pal mentioned something like that a few months on another thread Shuhak. That people would rather do anything than admit they were wrong because they think it shows a lack of intelligence and who is gonna admit they were dumb? So it's easier on their egos to just stick with the dumb and refuse to acknowledge. We who observe them think they are quite ridiculous. Thank you for your reply! :)
