At what point did FASCISM become popular? Used to be that DEMOCRACY was the fair-haired child. Who was the USA turncoat traitor?

When people quit following the old phrase:  I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. 

Now, people pass laws to arrest/fine you if you you use the wrong pronoun. Riot if they do not like a speaker. Have safe spaces and free speech zones.
