It's human nature to be drawn to the forbidden. When one is told they can go anywhere except (wherever), the first thing that pops into their mind is "why". Why can't I go (wherever)? What's there? Are they trying to hide something? Rarely does one think about all the places they can go. One could be told that there are 999,999 flavours of ice cream they can eat but just 1 that is forbidden. Instantly they are drawn to the 1 forbidden flavor.
Very true and I don't think it has anything to do with being curious. I think it is all about defiance. "You say I can't do something I say I can and I will and you can't stop me". Like a spoiled child. Which is why when a sign says WET PAINT people touch whatever the sign is on. Or why when a sign says KEEP OFF THE GRASS the defiant dodos walk across it. I follow rules. I obey signs. I don't do end runs around anything. I may not like it but I comply with it. SIGH. Not because I'm a goody two shoes but because by nature I am not a lawbreaker even if I think the law is stupid. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
