Are you the family adventurer/tryer outer of new things? First in line and first to review and first to know what's spiffy and what's iffy?

Nope; quite the opposite, actually.  I stick with what's tried and true.  I don't go for fads and gimmicks.  I stick to the trail, so as to not fall over a cliff.

Me too. No surprise. I do not want bells and whistles I will never use. Some gadgets thingies I have no use for at all with or without the gingerbread. I'm happy with my desktop/Windows 7. I liked XL better but the SOB's pulled that rug out from under me and next year they will do the same with 7. No one I know likes 10 but that is what they are shoving down our throats. I CAHN'T STEND IT! There is an entire world out there of which I am not a part by design. Our sons are the tryer outers. Not us. Thank you for your reply Shuhak. Why fix what ain't broke? They break stuff so you are forced to buy or do without. Bah humbug! :(

I liked XL better too, but I've gotten used to Windows 7.  Yes, they're retiring Windows 7 at the end of this month.  Yes, they're retiring Windows 10 in October 2020 (even though they claimed they wouldn't).  Well... not "retiring" retiring, they'll provide extended support for it until 2025, but mainstream support expires in October 2020.  Money-grubbers!!
Both my sister and my mom got Windows 10 on their last computer, and neither of them like it.  I tried it on their computers - yuck!  But, given enough time I could probably get used to it, but that doesn't mean I'll like it.

Geez. Well I'm gonna do what I did with XL. Hang in as long as I can and ignore their drop dead date. I mean NOT ONE PERSON I KNOW who uses Windows 10 likes. I've asked everyone I know. Some are extremely computer savvy and they tell me all the things they try to make it better most of which I don't even understand. And even they they say it sucks. You bring up a valid point that I am going to try VERY HARD to embrace. "I could probably get used to it, but that doesn't mean I'll like it." What happened to the customer is always right and customer service? I know. By asking I'm dating myself.
Years ago you'd go to a full-service gas station. They clean all your windows, pump the gas automatically. Of course they make a lot more money making the customer pump their own gas and bag their own groceries. I'm gonna ask a question about that. Stay tuned. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
