I've been so lucky to have more than one but here's one to let you know what I mean.
My son was away at college. I think it was his first year away from home. Mother's Day was approaching. I got a call from his best friend who was attending college locally who invited me out for a Mother's Day Brunch at the beach!
It was a restaurant at Malibu. Ever see the TV Show Rockford Files. It was that restaurant. We lived in the San Fernando Valley at the time so it was quite a trek. After breakfast we just walked on the beach for awhile. A PERFECT day to do that. He spent a few hours with me and I felt so privileged and honored that my son's friend would do that for me. Now I know he also did it for my son but still.
