Because truth is no longer popular in this country. We would much rather justify a lie than hear the truth.
Truth has a habit of popping our fantasy bubble of how we want things to be. Justifying a lie is our attempt to file down truths sharp edges. We rephrase the truth, coat the truth, whittle down the truth, and even relabel the truth, all in an effort to make it more palatable. If we do this long enough we begin to believe falsehoods to be actual truth.
No one likes pain, We go through great length to avoid pain. Look at all the pills we have that "alleviate" pain. Nearly all of these medications don't actually stop/treat pain, they merely mask it; dull it enough to make it tolerable. Even so, the pain is still there. Truth can be painful. But if we mask it (justify it), it doesn't hurt so much.
So you mean it's out of fashion then? Did it run its course Shuhak like Beanie Babies and Hula Hoops and we won't see it again? "The more things change the more they stay the same". I have no idea why that popped into my mind honestly it never made any sense to me. Does it to you? Were homo saps always this and only now are revealing themselves? It's like the zombification movies. You see what's happening and try to warn people but eventually you become one too? Scary thought. It's just that there is no middle here. No fence on which to sit. Either deadhead is the best thing sliced bread or the worst evil since the BLACK PLAGUE to be visited upon mankind. The numbers aren't changing. He owns a solid 41%. What do we do with THAT? ARRGGHH!
