Ryan Patrick O'Leary and wife Sheila were charged with MURDER for the death of their infant son. What did they do?

Well ya see they are Vegans and have 4 children to whom they fed only raw fruit and veggies.

First degree murder.

Now adults can eat whatever they wish or fast themselves to death. But to impose that regimen and growing children whose bodies are formed by the foods they eat?

Some people are simply not meant to be parents. They dumheads are a good example.

The fault was not with the vegan diet. A person can be vegan and not be underweight.
These "parents" were simply not feeding their children enough.
(4 children all extremely underwieght except the oldest...only because she visits her father on weekends)

They told the police the youngest 18 months (who died) had only breastmilk for 2 weeks.

This is a sad case but veganism is not to blame. Poor parenting resulting in malnutrition is to blame. Ignoring the Drs instructions is to blame.

How does no one notice that these children are malnourished?  How is it that no one reported this to some authority?

I do not know if the Doc reported it or not. I did read that they had been investigated before this...years before. Likely do to the Dad of the eldest child. May have even been the only child at the time.
They were not in school either. This post was edited by my2cents at December 22, 2019 10:54 AM MST

Thanks.  It is amazing to me that no one who saw what these children looked like felt compelled to report these parents.  No other family members saw this?  I can tell you that if I had seen any of my nieces or nephews looking malnourished, I would have stepped in - even if it meant kidnapping the child.

Yep. You would think a neighbor or someone would have noticed. I am sure the Doc is wished he/she would have done more....

They all should be ashamed of themselves for ignoring this poor child.

I have no idea L. I read it and teared up. Children are always held hostage by their parents. For good or ill they float swim or sink. The number of terrible parents never seems to diminish. Thank you for your reply! :)

No, unfortunately, the number of awful parents never diminishes.  What a sad commentary that is.
