Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Early on homo saps were able to barter. I'm told that bartering is not possible today. So homo saps have changed then and can never go back?
I bartered work. I worked at a driving range for no pay for eight weeks and the owner, an electrician by trade, wired my basement and installed a new 200 amp box. I also worked for him the last day of the season for a 38 cal. pistol. I believe barter amongst the medical professions is common. I'll be your dentist, you be my physician.
(hugs)) You NAILED it m'dear. EXACTLY precisely what I meant by my question. Gonna ask another one from a harsher perspective which I already KNOW you will get too! Thank you for your reply and for hsaring an excellent example of my point. I appreciate it very bigly. Hope Christmas was great for you and your family and Happy Friday!:
It works sometimes, if both parties have something the other wants/needs. The last thing I bartered for was arm bands for a swim park. (I go about 50 of them....I can take the grandkids when ever I want) The owner wanted some decor but really did not have cash on hand. They really wanted to trade for stays at their hotel but I did not need any.
I forgot one. While I was working the driving range I got to know the police sargeant in charge of evidence property. I asked her if she had any digital scales from drug bust that I could use in my chem lab. She brought me a dozen of them. She got free baskets of golf balls when I was working.
((hugs)) BINGO m2c. Excellent example of what I meant. Awesome in my opinion plus which do the grandkids know because I think it's really important they learn you don't always need money to get what you need/want. An exchange of services or produce or whatever can work too. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to thee m2c. Oh I never got back to you on the Kentucky Kernal. I think I told you I bought the regular and the garlic. I used the regular for chicken a couple of days ago AND IT IS DELICIOUS. When I use the other one I'll let you know how that was! :)
