Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Is there a difference in CHARACTER between those born to wealth and those born to poor who earn their wealth themselves?
Yes. The environment one is reared in has a direct affect on their character and their values. While it wont change their core persona (whether they're a thinker, a doer, a nutrerer, etc.), it will affect how one uses these traits. One born into a wealthy family will face different challenges than one born into a poor family. They will be taught differently as well. They will also have vastly different opportunities afforded to them. A child in a wealthy family may get to meet more influential people than that of one from a poor family. These opportunities can send them in different directions (career or otherwise).
Very true.If your parents can afford to cheat you into Harvard or give a building worth bazillions you have an edge. It takes money to make money and the monied are always the privileged the elites. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak! :)

It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye than it would be for a man born into privlege tohave any character at all; until and unless he is exposed to the world. If he delves seriously into the world and experiences life as a man with no perks, then he can at least understand some compassion. How can a man who reads books about suffering and never experienced a lick of it, even fathom the angst of the common man.
I think they have their own set of obstacles, I don't think they have a guaranteed happy life at ALL. But their circumstances for character building where humanity is concerned is the obstacle of a lifetime for them.
