Not possible. "Users" (and I use that term loosely) keep wanting more. I mean Windows XP is a far cry from Windows 3.1. And Win 3.1 was a far cry from DOS 2.0. Microsoft knows that everyone in the world is using a smartphone these days (sarcasm), therefore Win 10 was meant to resemble a smartphone (works much better with a touch screen than with a standard monitor). Updating XP to account for the changes that have occured since its demise is what got us Win 10. All things must change or they die out. The problem is they force these updates down our throats instead of letting those who have no need for the newfangled crap to keep their old version.
Not only that, but it keeps Microsoft in business. Although they abandoned Office 2007 it many years ago, I still use it as it's suffice for my needs. The only reason I updated it from 2000 was because Microsoft gave it to me free. Now they want users to rent it. Just a money grab.
Thank you for you thoughtful and informative reply Shuhak. We have no cell phones smart or otherwise. I remember way back when I loved the operating system. I got used to 7 but I dread 10. BAD PRESS. So as I always do when things look dark I "WHAT IF". Now WHAT IF is not confined to reality. That is its beauty. I can WHAT IF anything I wish. No one can stop me from doing that. It comforts me. We all use crutches to get through life. One of mine is my imagination! :)
