How forgiving is GOD? If the don of johns were an ATHEIST would GOD still have sent him to "save" his supporters?

We have no proof that the don of johns believes in anything. We have his words and his apparent rare church attendances but we cannot read his mind. He could be faking it 100%.

If that were the case then would his supporters still believe GOD sent him to deliver them from Democrats?
