Yes. I order many things from Amazon, mostly books, but other items as well, and I do review them. If I'm not sure about something, I will read reviews, but I prefer to read the negative reviews first. If there aren't any among a lot of reviews, I am skeptical about how real they are.
Thank you for your reply L. Whenever Jim gets interested in some new terrific something I always research it on the net and you know what? So far he has batted zero. Whether it's a company providing a service or a product I read everything and after I gave him the info he never pursued it. He is a believer in people and he believes what they tell him. I'm a believer too but I ALWAYS CHECK EVERYTHING OUT. It's the nature of an auditor. It might look real good on the surface but ya gotta look at the bones see the structure see if it makes sense from the ground up. :)
I agree. The two or three times I didn't do my due diligence, I was sorry and when I went back and looked after the purchase, I realized I should have done that first.
Isn't there a saying "once burned twice shy"? The internet is a spectacular tool to use to protect yourself from the con artists out there. Sadly there seem to be a lot of them. It's too bad that we always have to be on guard isn't it? Thank you for your reply L! :)
There was a time when you could be pretty sure that what you were buying was worth what you paid, but these days, too many try to get away with cutting corners to make a bigger profit. I guess you have to live by the adage, Buyer Beware.
Yep. Absolutely. On the positive side though when we are dissatisfied with a product from the grocery store or a local store they always give us our money back. So far so good! Thank you for your reply L! :)
If a food store doesn't return your money for food that you discover is spoiled when you get home, they run the risk of being boycotted through work of mouth. It is not in their interest to deny you a refund. I'm always bothered by people who take an item from a frozen or refrigerated area, decide they don't want it and ut it on some other shelf. If it sits there long enough it will spoil, but the store generally puts it back in stock, not knowing if it's been out for minutes or hours. That has happened to me, but the store where I bought it was too far away to be bothered returning it.
It doesn't have to be spoiled L. If we don't like the taste we just return. I bought some Lemon Curd jam a couple of days. We tasted it and it did NOT taste like lemon at all. Now was it spoiled or is that just the way it's supposed to taste? I don't know but we always returns what we don't like. We are never questioned for doing that. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)
That might work in a small store, but not necessarily in a chain supermarket. What the stores will do is let you try a taste of something that's made fresh at the store, so if you don't like it, you just don't buy it.
Most of the time no. I do more on Amazon. They ask from time to time for you to review. I also answer some of the questions about a product IF I know the correct answer.
I always read reviews if it is a product I have never used. And have Amazon Prime so returns are easy...if needed.
