You buy insurance for what purpose? You HOPE you never have to use but it's there just in case. Isn't a FLU shot insurance too?

Yes and no.  Everyone WILL get the flu bug - shot or no shot.  The shot can make it less severe or allow the body to ward it off.

insurance is a money grabbing scam.  You pay and pay into it in hopes of never having to use it.  However, if you do, it either won't cover what happened, or you have the wrong type type of policy.  If it DOES cover what happened, they will find a way to not pay out, or do a half-a$$ed job at "fixing" the problem.  Insurance companies are there for one thing and one thing only - to make money.  NOT to help their customers!

Our insurance company Kaiser never charges us for flu shots. No co pay. Free. Thank you for your reply Shuhak. I'd be dead without insurance. I got my cancer at age 70 so Medicare/Kaiser paid enough for me that I'm here today. They took very good care of me and followed me around like hawks subsequent to the surgery and chemo for years. I got no complaint. I don't know what other insurance companies are like and never will. I'm satisfied with what I have.

Yes, the flu shot is the best basic level of insurance against the flue---the premium for which is the cost of the shot ($0.00 under my BC/BS policy).

Insurance allows you to spread the typical risks associated with living among entities that allow you to protect yourself against "externalities" which you might experience---and which are by definition, out of your control.

What companies you choose to pay a small fee to for assuming a designated percentage of the risk is up to you---and frankly, is your responsibility.

    Choose wisely.

We have Kaiser and every year we get a flu shot for FREE. No copay. It's preventive medicine and some of those things are FREE to us. Can't beat that! Thank you for your thoughtful reply tom and Happy Friday! :)
