Can an OPINION be a fact to the person with the opinion?

For example.

X is the kindest person I have ever met.

Now X may be an SOB to others. But not to me. So my opinion is also my FACT. Right?

It is FACT for me m2c. Unless you are calling me a liar. Are you? If I say jacka** is the smartest person I ever met that too would be my FACT. I sure don't get why you don't get that. SIGH. Thanks. This post was edited by RosieG at January 24, 2020 7:33 AM MST

No. There is a difference between a fact and an opinion.

The fact is described as the statement that can be verified or proved to be true. Opinion is an expression of judgment or belief about something. Fact relies on observation or research while opinion is based on assumption. The fact is an objective reality whereas opinion is a subjective statement.

    I agree it's an opinion.
Especially since you don't remember everybody you ever met.
EG: you may have met Mother Teresa when you were an infant.
So it would be more accurate to say "X is the kindest person I remember meeting."

Also, "kind" and its variants are subjective terms.
