A prez wannabe implied that. He said the NYC police knew who was guilty but were afraid to do anything about it. Do you agree with the always-opinionated usually wrong prez wannabe?
That is probably not what was implied but to address your question there is the concept of "malicious compliance" which is that subordinates will follow rules even when known that those rules will lead to failure as a way of showing the fault with the rules. This concept applies to society too where people will do something in line with some current trend of thinking in society to show it can fail, and sometimes it is done halfway and this is the worse. Halfway is when people walk by a lost child because they are afraid to approach and help out of fear of being accused of being a pedophile, or when people don't do anything about the behavior of someone out of fear of being accused of being racist or islamaphobic.

Rosie implied in her question that Trump accused the police of knowing who did the bombing but refused to arrest them. That is exactly what I replied to. And Trump said the police know who a lot of these people are, but don't do anything for fear of being accused of profiling. Trump is correct, as I said in my response. The PC left have made it impossible to do the job!
Criticizing the POLICIES put in place by the PC left does not mean Trump hates the police. He hates the PC policy of the left-wingers. And he is right!

If Trump is saying that the NY/NJ-area police KNEW Ahmad Khan Rahami was going to commit bombings, but did nothing to intervene, then he is severely disrespecting their competence and/or moral character.

Where did the 'prez wannabe' imply that? He did say that, according to the PC policies, we are not allowed to profile. I can't find where he said that the police KNEW who the guilty party was but didn't arrest him, when in actuality they did track him down. You ARE implying an 'after-the-fact' scenario in you statement. I seem to recall a neighbor in San Bernardino who said she saw suspicious activities at the Farook home, but feared reporting it would label her as Islamophobic. We have the case of the Fort Hood murderer, who his superiors were concerned about, but chose to not say anything and instead promote him and move him from base to base. That is what he his referring to!
