This appropriately-titled song became the Beach Boys' second number one in the UK, although surprisingly it did not go all the way in the USA.
It peaked at #20 in the US.
I know, I read it in the Billboard Book of US Top 40 Hits. I was shocked that a Beach Boys single was only a moderate hit in the US, especially one that was such a huge smash in the UK. I really thought it would have got into at least the Top 5 in the US. Out of the Beach Boys singles that did top the US charts, only "Good Vibrations" went all the way in the UK as well.
