"Your" tildes? You mean the tildes you stole, right?

The tildes willingly left you to follow me.

I didn't steal the tildes.  I only stole their hearts.

    They just love me!

Oh I have a "friend" from Answer Bag who ignored my request for about 5 years.

    I just left it there.

Some people don't even notice that thing.  The request.    Just leave it there as a torment.

Hey, wait. If the person ignored the request, then she or he never became your friend, right?

I ignored a friend request on AM for about a month but not on purpose.  The friend request icon at the top of the page didn't show a number 1 in that little red circle for about four weeks.

There is someone on here who has made a friend request at least five times, all of which I have ignored.  One would think he have gotten the message by now.  It's unfortunate that the choices are to "confirm" or "not now."  There should be a third one - "not ever."

Well, I have sent out requests to several people who came over here with me from another site and two or three who were instrumental in alerting me to this site.  However, I have turned down one person consistently because I just don't think I have anything in common with a trashbag - sexy or otherwise.

You won't be the only turning that person down. He agreed to stop sending me requests after a short exchange of IM's. However, he kept it up. I've now told him in public inside his questions that I don't want to accept a friendship, and that I see very little, if any in common.

I haven't told him directly to stop sending me friend requests because I thought after 5-6 refusals, he'd get the message.  Apparently I was wrong, which means that he would probably not stop even if I asked him directly not to do that.

You're likely right about that. Unfortunately. There will be a few of these guys around. I have never experienced it with a woman. Not here, and not the other sites I have used previously. This seems to be a guy thing. Sighs.

I have found it to be a guy thing, too.  Right after I posted about this, I got another friend request. :)
