You could smell the flowers as the floats went... moreBeing a Californian for me it was The Rose Parade many decades ago. I was about ten, my sister was three and we were there for hours. You could smell the flowers as the floats went by. Then later after the parade was over the floats could be found at a nearby Park so you could see them up close and personal. I think it was called Victory Park but I'm not sure. Now we watch it on TV. Still beautiful of course but not nearly as exciting as BEING THERE.
